Purpose:
Minto Skating Club does not offer refunds except in the case of medical circumstances where the skater
has missed a minimum of four (4) consecutive weeks of skating sessions due to illness or injury. This
policy applies to skaters enrolled in StarSkate/Competitive Skate sessions, and not those enrolled in the
CanSkate program.
Policy:
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Executive committee, and accompanied by a
dated doctor’s note outlining the diagnosis and treatment. Requests for refund will be considered on an
individual basis. Refunds will only pertain to the program fee portion of the account. A personal credit
will be issued, which will be retained on the skater’s account for one calendar year from the date issued.
Full Withdrawal from Minto Skating Club sessions:
If granted, the refund will be for an amount equal to 80% of the program fees, pro-rated from
the date of the last day skated to the end of the season.
Partial withdrawal from Minto Skating Club sessions:
If a skater requests a refund for one or more sessions, but are still skating on other Minto
sessions, the refund will be granted prior to the first day of skating for the session, less an
Administration Fee of $25.00. If the refund is requested on or after the first day of skating, the
refund will be for an amount equal to 80% of the program fees for the withdrawn session(s),
prorated from the date of the partial withdrawal to the end of the season.
Requests for refund for any reason other than medical will not be considered.
The club makes commitments to pay for ice and its decision to offer a session is based on the number of skaters on the session and the subsequent ability to cover the cost of the session.
